1 Overview & Single Purpose

Husna — Asmaul Husna & Duas New Tab is a distraction-free browser new tab extension created to provide a tranquil Islamic remembrance experience. When opening a new tab, users are presented with the 99 Names of Allah, curated Duas with translations, a live clock with Hijri calendar, mindful focus tools, and serene nature backgrounds.

Husna was built on the core principle of privacy-first spiritual mindfulness: no advertisements, no tracking scripts, no third-party telemetry, and no external servers.

2 Data Collection Disclosure

Husna does NOT collect any information from you or your device:

No Personally Identifiable Information (PII): No names, email addresses, usernames, or contact details are ever requested or collected.
No Browsing History or Web Traffic: Husna never logs, tracks, or transmits websites you visit, URLs, or search queries.
No Analytics or Tracking: No Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Sentry, cookies, or remote tracking pixels are integrated.
No Remote API Calls for Core Data: All 99 Names of Allah, Dua collections, and curated nature photography are bundled directly inside the extension package and work completely offline.

3 Local Storage & Preferences

Any customizations you make within Husna are stored strictly on your local computer using the Chrome Storage API (chrome.storage.local). This data never leaves your browser:

Display Preferences: Clock format (12-hour or 24-hour), toggles for greeting, Hijri date adjustments, and visual theme selection.
Focus Timer Settings: User-defined work duration (e.g., 25 minutes) and break intervals.
Distraction Blacklist: The list of domain names (e.g., twitter.com, reddit.com) that you choose to block during active focus sessions.
Tasbih Count & Favorites: Saved bookmark flags for your favorite Names or Duas, and current digital Tasbih bead counters.

You can clear this data at any time through the in-app Settings panel or by removing the extension from your browser.

4 Permissions & Technical Justifications

Husna requests only the minimum permissions necessary to function as designed. Below is the full technical justification for each requested permission:

`storage`	Used solely to store user preferences, custom theme selections, tasbih count, and focus settings locally on the user's device via `chrome.storage.local`.
`alarms`	Used to schedule reliable background countdown timers and notifications for the user's voluntary Focus Sessions in Manifest V3 without keeping persistent background scripts alive.
`declarativeNetRequest`	Used exclusively during active Focus Mode to redirect user-specified distracting domain names (e.g., social media sites) to a local mindful reflection page (`blocked.html`). Does not inspect or read webpage contents.
`host_permissions: ["<all_urls>"]`	Required strictly by Chrome's `declarativeNetRequest` API so the user can freely specify any domain of their choice in their personal distraction blacklist. Husna does not read, intercept, or log any web page content or URL traffic.

5 Google API Limited Use Disclosure

Husna's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres strictly to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements:

Data is never sold or provided to data brokers or third parties.
Data is never used for advertising, behavioral retargeting, creditworthiness, or lending purposes.
Human eyes never inspect your locally stored preferences.

6 Third-Party Links

Husna may contain optional visual credits or links (such as photographer credits on Unsplash for bundled wallpapers). Clicking these external links opens the respective website subject to their independent privacy policies.
